Affected products

This recall involves certain MEC mitts for children and youths, and certain gloves for adults. The style number and purchase order (PO) number can be found on the tag inside the right-hand mitt and glove.  Only products with style and PO numbers specified are included in this recall.

Issue

The recalled products were found to contain mould. Mould may pose a health risk to individuals with compromised immune systems, damaged lungs or an allergy to mould.

As of November 28, 2024, the company has received no reports of injuries in Canada.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and return to Mountain Equipment Company (MEC) for a full refund.
