Affected products

This recall involves Drinkmate 1L Carbonation Bottles that were sold online via Amazon.ca, Shopify.ca and Bestbuy.ca.

The affected bottles have an expiration date range of 01/2026-10/2026. Each bottle is marked with safety and warning icons/information, as well as the bottle's expiration date.

Issue

The Drinkmate 1L Carbonation Bottles can explode during use, posing serious impact that can lead to laceration and injury hazards to users and bystanders.

As of August 1, 2025, the company has received one report of a bottle shattered during use, causing some bruises and property damage in Canada, and eight similar reports of injuries and property damage in the United States.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and dispose of them in accordance with local waste requirements. Consumers may also complete the RECALL FORM to request replacement bottles.

Joint recall with Health Canada, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC) and i-Drink Products Inc.

Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada.

Health Canada would like to remind consumers to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form.

Number Sold

The company reported that approximately 5,000 units of the affected products were sold online via Amazon.ca, Shopify.ca and Bestbuy.ca in Canada. The company also reported that 101,582 were sold online in the United States via iDrinkproducts.com, Walmart.com, Amazon.com and Target.com.

Time Period Sold

The affected products were sold from April 2023 to October 2024 in Canada and the United States.

Place of Origin
