What to do

Immediately stop using the recalled product, take them away from children and request a refund.

Affected products

This recall involves a pen with magnetic components, composed of pen refills, pen caps , tips, a clip and a case.  The base of the pen is composed of multiple detachable magnetic segments.  The kit may also contain small steel balls that can be used with the detachable magnetic segments allowing it to be rearranged into different shapes.

Issue

Health Canada's sampling and evaluation program has determined that the magnets do not meet the performance criteria assessed for small powerful magnets set out in Table 3 of the general prohibitions under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act.

Small, powerful magnets can be easily swallowed by children of all ages, posing serious and potentially life-threatening risks.

When more than one powerful magnet is swallowed in a short period of time, the magnets can attract one another while moving through the intestines. This can cause the intestines to twist, creating blockages or tearing of the intestinal walls.

As of February 26, 2026, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.
