Health Canada warns that Power-7 USB Wall Charger Model US2018 may pose a risk of electrical shock

This alert involves the following products:
- Power-7 USB Wall Chargers Model US2018
The affected products are a 2.1A/5V dual port USB cube power adapter in white with a grey stripe. The model number US2018 is found on the prong side of the adapter. The products were sold in a package of 5 or in package of 2 on Amazon.ca and can be identified by the Amazon Standard Identification Number (ASIN) B083LBZX1F and B082XPSDFL.
Issue
Health Canada’s sampling and evaluation program has determined that the affected product poses an unreasonable risk of electric shock.
What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop using the product and dispose of it in accordance with municipal electronic waste requirements.
Regularly check the Healthy Canadians Recalls and Safety Alerts database for dangerous products and take action to remove items of concern.
Health Canada would like to remind consumers to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of these products or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form.

What is being done
The product has been removed from sale from Amazon.ca. Health Canada has contacted the foreign third-party seller and is advising consumers to immediately stop using the affected USB wall chargers.
Amazon.ca reported that 97,113 units of the affected product were sold in Canada between August, 2020 and March, 2024.
To date, no incidents or injuries related to this product have been reported to Health Canada.
