This alert involves the following product:

  • Simnoble 2 in 1 Mini Ceramic Space Heater with Humidifier

The affected product was sold as a tabletop heater and humidifier unit on Amazon.ca under ASIN B0B7MQQQW9.  The product is a corded, white cylindrical shaped ceramic heater with a water reservoir on top of the ceramic heating element to provide humidifier function.  The heater is 21.2 cm in height and 13.5 cm in diameter.

Issue

Health Canada has determined the affected product likely poses a danger to human health or safety and poses an unreasonable risk of fire.  The product does not appear to have an enclosure with suitable resistance to fire and heat, posing a fire hazard.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the affected product and dispose of it in accordance with municipal electronic waste requirements.

 Regularly check the Healthy Canadians Recalls and Safety Alerts database for dangerous products and take action to remove items of concern.

Health Canada would like to remind consumers to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of these products or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form.

What is being done

The product has been removed from sale from the Amazon.ca website.  Health Canada has contacted the foreign third-party seller and is advising consumers to immediately stop using the affected space heater with humidifier.  

Amazon.ca reported that 852 units were sold in Canada between July 2022 and September 2023.

Health Canada reminds consumers to learn about the risks of buying consumer products online (see Related Links above).

To date, one incident of a fire related to this product has been reported to Health Canada, no injuries were reported.
