Affected products
This recall involves The Paris Apothecary Aristocrat Beard Oil in dropper bottles (30 mL / 1 oz) and The Paris Apothecary Aristocrat Beard Balm (57 g / 2 oz).
Issue
Health Canada’s sampling and evaluation program has determined that the recalled products contain methyl eugenol above the maximum concentration outlined in the Cosmetic Ingredient Hotlist.
Methyl eugenol is prohibited as a pure ingredient on the Hotlist due to its potential for carcinogenicity but is permitted as a naturally occurring component in botanical extracts with specific limits depending on the product type.
As of January 6th, 2026, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and dispose of them or contact The Paris Apothecary for a refund.
