Affected products
This recall involves Simond brand ultra-light Alpinism quickdraws, blue and purple, 11 cm and 17 cm long, model numbers #8589547 and # 8589548, marketed by Decathlon Canada.
Issue
There is a defect on the riveting of the finger wire of the quickdraw. This assembly defect can lead to the breakage of the wire finger and create a risk of breakage of the carabiner in the event of a fall.

As of September 8, 2026, the company has not received any reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.
