This recall expansion involves South Shore Ltd. brand crib models Balka, Yodi and Dylan. The cribs are identified by the model number and order number found on the label on the inside bottom at one end of the crib. Additional model numbers and order numbers have been included for Balka model cribs.

Issue

The spacing between some crib slats is between 3 mm to 5.5 mm too wide creating a dangerous opening for the child, posing a risk of entrapment.

Health Canada reminds parents and caregivers that the safest place for a baby to sleep is on their back on a firm, flat surface intended for sleep. As of August 12, 2024, the company has not received any reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled cribs and contact South Shore Furniture Ltd. for a refund.
