Issue
FCA Canada has determined that some Mopar gooseneck trailer hitch ball kits may not fully seat and lock into the truck hardware as intended. This can be caused by dirt and/or debris accumulation on top of the gooseneck ball mount, in the mounting hole and/or tolerance stack-up. If this occurs, the gooseneck ball may appear to be locked in place when it is not. If the gooseneck ball is not locked in place, under certain driving conditions it may detach from the truck.
Affected parts are the Mopar 2 5/16‘’ Gooseneck Ball Kit part number 82213631 and Mopar 3” Gooseneck Ball Kit part number 82213632.
Correction: FCA Canada will conduct a voluntary field action on all affected parts. The remedy for this condition is
currently under development.
Note: This field action is not being conducted under the requirements of the Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
