Issue

Issue:
On certain vehicles, the bolts for the driver's seat and/or seat belt may not be properly tightened. This could cause the seat or seat belt come loose or detach in a crash. Drivers may notice a rattling noise in the area near the bottom of the seat if the bolts are loose.

Safety Risk:
A driver that is not properly restrained could be injured in a crash.

Corrective Actions:
The company will notify owners by mail. Owners will be instructed to take their vehicle to a BMW dealer to have the bolts for the driver's seat and seat belt inspected and tightened, as required.
