Issue

Issue:
A software problem could make it impossible to turn off the high-beam headlights using the switch lever. This problem only affects certain vans with the high-beam assist option.
Note: If this happens, the high-beams can be turned off by turning the headlight switch from the "automatic headlights" position to the "manual headlights" position, or by re-starting the van.

Safety Risk:
High-beam lights that stay on could cause glare and reduce visibility for oncoming traffic. This could increase the risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions:
Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your van to a dealer to update the body controller software.
