Issue

Issue:
On certain motorcycles, a clip in the transmission may detach. This could cause the transmission to shift from neutral into gear during engine start-up, or cause the rear wheel to lockup while the motorcycle is being driven.

Safety Risk:
A rear wheel lockup could affect vehicle stability and cause a loss of control. A transmission that suddenly shifts into gear could cause unexpected vehicle movement. Both situations could increase the risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions:
The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to replace the transmission main shaft.
