Issue
Issue:
On certain vehicles, an engine software update may have been performed incorrectly. This could cause trouble codes to not be stored when the ignition key is turned off. If a fault was present, this could cause a warning lamp not to light up the next time the engine is started.
Safety Risk:
A warning lamp that does not turn on may not provide a driver with important information about vehicle safety systems. This could increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to update the engine software.
Note: This is an expansion of recall 2018-662.
