Issue:
On certain vehicles, the steering column could separate due to an improper weld. If this happens, there would be a complete loss of steering control.
Safety Risk:
A loss of steering control could create a risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a Peterbilt dealer to inspect, and if necessary, replace the steering column.
