Issue
Issue:
On certain trucks, the output shaft on the forward rear axle was not made properly, and could break. If this happens, part of the shaft and the retaining nut could drop on the road. If the failure is not noticed, this could eventually cause a separation of the inter-axle driveshaft.
Safety Risk:
Driveline pieces that fall from a moving vehicle could create a hazard for other drivers and nearby people.
Corrective Actions:
The company will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealer to inspect the output shaft. It will be replaced if necessary.
