Issue

Issue:
On certain vehicles equipped with electric adjustable second-row seats, the wiring harness under the right seat may not be properly routed. As a result, the wiring harness could be damaged when the seat is moved. If this happens, the side airbag may not work properly. Additionally, the driver may not be warned that the rear seat belt is not fastened or that the seat is not properly locked in place.

Safety Risk:
An airbag that does not work properly could increase the risk of injury in a crash. A seat that is not properly latched could move in a crash and create a risk of injury.

Corrective Actions:
Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the routing of the wiring harness. If necessary, the harness will be repaired and re-routed correctly.
