Issue
Issue:
On certain vehicles, the propeller shaft (driveshaft) could break while driving and cause a loss of power to the wheels. In severe cases, a propeller shaft failure could also damage the parking brake. If this happens, there may be no way to stop movement of the vehicle when it is parked. This could allow the vehicle to roll away.
Safety Risk:
A loss of power to the wheels or a vehicle rollaway could increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
The company will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the propeller shaft.
