Issue:
On certain vehicles, the left-front brake caliper could fracture during hard braking. If this happens, there could be a loss of brake fluid and reduced brake performance.
Safety Risk:
Reduced brake performance can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
General Motors will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the casting lot number on the left-front brake caliper and replace it, if necessary.
