Transport Canada Recall - 2021657 - ALTEC INDUSTRIES

Issue:
On one aerial device, the threads on the boom lift cylinder rod may not be machined correctly. As a result, the threads could fail and cause uncontrolled movement of the boom.

Safety Risk:
Uncontrolled boom movement could increase the risk of injury to the operator and nearby people.

Corrective Actions:
Altec Industries will notify the owner by mail and instruct them to inspect the lot number of the boom lift cylinder. If the cylinder is in the affected lot, the unit must be taken out of service until the cylinder is replaced. Altec Service will replace the cylinder, if necessary.
