Issue
Issue:
On certain vehicles, a software error could cause false forward collision warnings (FCW) and/or activate the automatic emergency brake (AEB) system. If this happens, the vehicle could come to a sudden stop.
Note: This problem only affects vehicles with firmware release 2021.36.5.2.
Safety Risk:
A vehicle that brakes or stops suddenly when there is no risk of a collision could create an increased risk of a rear-end crash.
Corrective Actions:
Tesla will email a notice to owners. Each vehicle affected by this issue has already received an over-the-air firmware update to fix this problem. There is no further action required if your vehicle has firmware release 2021.36.5.3 or a later release.
