Issue:
On a small number of vehicles, a ground connection in the trunk may not have been properly tightened. As a result, the connection loosen and overheat. A loose connection could also cause the electronic stability control (ESP) system not to work correctly.
Safety Risk:
A loose or overheated ground connection could create the risk of a fire. An electronic stability control system that doesn't work properly could increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the ground connection in the trunk, and tighten it if necessary.
