2023 | FORD | F-550 SUPER DUTY

Issue

Issue:
On one incomplete vehicle equipped with dual rear wheels, the front wheel hub extenders may not have been properly installed. As a result, the nuts could loosen and a wheel could separate from the vehicle.

Safety Risk:
A wheel separation could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. A wheel that separates could also hit another person or vehicle.

Corrective Actions:
Ford advises not to drive the vehicle until the recall repairs are completed. Ford will notify the owner by mail and advise them to contact a dealer to arrange to have the vehicle towed to the dealership. The dealer will inspect the vehicle, and if a front wheel hub extender retaining nut is loose, the wheel hub extender, retaining nuts and hub assembly will be replaced.
