Issue

Issue:
On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the Automatic Emergency Braking system (AEB) to falsely detect an obstacle and activate when it is not needed. If this happens, the system will stop or slow the vehicle down suddenly.

Safety Risk:
If the AEB system activates with braking when no potential collision is present, it could increase the risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions:
Mazda will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the vehicle control module software.
