Issue

Issue:
On certain trucks, the recall repairs completed by a Ford dealer during recall 23S46 (Transport Canada recall no. 2023-450) may not have been done correctly. As a result, a second repair is required.

Under certain conditions, a software problem could cause the wrong rearview camera image to display while reversing. As a result, the hitch or trailer view image may display instead of the default rearview image. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when reversing.
Note: This recall only affects trucks equipped with the Pro Trailer Hitch Assist feature.

Safety Risk:
A rearview camera image that doesn't display properly could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions:
Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to update the advanced drive assistance system module software.
