Issue
Issue:
On certain motorcycles, the crankshaft bolts may have been over-tightened during production. As a result, a crankshaft bushing could become damaged. If this happens, the engine could stall while driving.
Safety Risk:
A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
To reduce the safety risk, Kawasaki advises not to ride your motorcycle until the recall repairs are completed. Kawasaki will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your motorcycle to a dealership to inspect the crankshaft bolts and bearing. The dealer will tighten the crankshaft bolts correctly and repair or replace parts and/or the engine, as necessary.
