Issue

Issue: On certain vehicles, the recall repairs completed by a Kia dealer during service campaign RC207 (Transport Canada recall number 2024-323) may not have been done correctly. As a result, a second repair is required. Under certain conditions, the switch for the driver- and/or passenger-front power seat motor(s) could become stuck and cause the seat motor(s) not to stop. If this happens, the motor(s) could overheat. Safety Risk: A seat motor that overheats can create a fire risk, even while the vehicle is parked and turned off. Corrective actions: To reduce the safety risk, Kia advises that you should park your vehicle outdoors and away from other vehicles or structures until the recall repairs have been completed. Kia will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to install an electronic fuse for the power seats.
