Issue

The affected lots contain arsenic, a toxic heavy metal, at levels above the acceptable limit. 

Arsenic exposure is associated with an increased risk of cancer and may harm different body systems:

  • skin
  • lungs
  • heart
  • brain
  • kidneys
  • reproductive

Exposure to arsenic also poses risks during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and may harm fetal growth and affect birth outcomes and neurodevelopment.

What you should do

  • Stop using the products if they are part of the recall.
  • Return the products to the store where you bought them or dispose of them. Dispose of any product that you have opened safely and out of the reach of children and youth.
  • Report any health or safety complaints you have about these or other cannabis products by filling out the Cannabis Reporting Form online.

Additional information

Background

The recall was triggered after Great White North Growers Inc. conducted additional non-routine testing on one of the recalled product lots.

2916 units of the recalled products were sold from July 17, 2024 to January 29, 2026, through authorized retailers in Quebec and the Yukon.

120 units of the recalled product Lunaire Fleur de Lune dried cannabis (3.5 g; lot 1000765B; packaging date 11 NO 2024) were sold to medical clients through Médicibis.

To date, Great White North Growers Inc. and Health Canada have not received any complaints or adverse reaction reports about the recalled lots.
