Affected products
This recall involves certain 3 inch Grundfos SQFlex Solar Submersible Pumps. The affected products are submersible pumps used to pump groundwater with a built-in inverter that can accept DC power (e.g., solar, wind) or AC power. They are 76 mm (3 inches) in diameter. The model number and date codes can be found on a nameplate on the product, and on the product packaging.

Issue
The motor cable may become damaged where it contacts the cable guard. Damage to the cable insulation could expose energized wires, posing an electric shock hazard.
As of September 24, 2026, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.
What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop using affected pumps installed on the surface, such as those used in tanks and ponds, and contact Grundfos or your installer for a repair or replacement. Affected pumps that have not been installed yet should be returned for a replacement. For pumps installed in wells, no immediate action is required, but affected pumps should be identified and isolated and Grundfos contacted when the pump is removed from the well for any reason in the future.
