Models RY401015US, RY401150US, RY401150US-Y and RY401015BTLUS with the following serial numbers: KC21032D010001 - KC21327N999999
Models RY401014US, RY401140US, RY401140US-Y, RY401014BTLUS, RY401016US, and RY401160US with serial numbers KC21032D010001 - KC21327N99999.

Affected products

This recall involves certain RYOBI brushless 21" cordless walk-behind self-propelled multi-blade push mowers (40V HP). The mowers have a black cutting deck with gray top housing along with a black bag with RYOBI printed on it. This recall only includes model numbers RY401014BTLUS, RY401014US, RY401140US, RY401015BTLUS, RY401015US, RY401150US, RY401140US-Y, RY401150US-Y, RY401160US and RY401016US with the following serial numbers: KC21032D010001 to KC21327N999999. The model and serial numbers can be found on the mowers as indicated in the photos above.

Issue

The recalled mowers have a push-on connector inside the powerhead which can overheat, posing a potential fire hazard.

As of January 24, 2025, the Company has received 1 report of overheating with fire while the mower was in use. There are no reports of injury in Canada. In the United States the Company has received 96 reports of overheating while the mower was in use, including 4 reports of fires. Two minor injuries were reported in the United States.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled mowers and contact TTIOPE for instructions on how to safely disable the mower and receive a free replacement 21” walk-behind mower.
